Sunday, June 9, 1:00–6:00 PM  RAISE THE STAGE ROOF FUNDRAISER PARTY One day only! We need to replace our Sandy-broken roof to continue our many, many events. *We are asking a small donation for the fundraiser only, and we offer up cuisine from the East Village's favorite restaurants and live entertainment from our Music Under the Stars series and other performers.

Thursday, June 13, 8:30–9:30 PM  URBAN ECOLOGY: A NEW YORK CITY COMMUNITIES SLIDESHOW Gardener Amy Berkov of New York Botanical Garden and the American Museum of Natural History will present a riveting slide show of the city's ecology. (Yes, we have that here too.) She will discuss an idiosyncratic handful of the 243 natural and cultural communities in our own area. See how they thrive, barely noticed by urban dwellers.

Saturday, June 15, 4:00–6:00 PM  FLAMENCO KIDS A wonderful yearly event where kids varying age groups present FLAMENCO! A colorful, musical, graceful, and festive afternoon. Great family fun.

Sunday, June 16, 1:00–4:00 PM  DRAWING IN THE GARDEN A live model will be present. This event has become so beloved that we've decided to supply basic art materials for anyone who wants to drop by! Artists of all skill levels and interests get a rare chance.

Sunday, June 16, 4:30–6:30 PM  HAYES GREENFIELD TRIO Imaginative, improvisational, soulful jazz. You will discover a wonderful range in Hayes Greenfield's music. He plays sax, accompanied by bass and drums. A returning favorite. Perfect music for a garden afternoon.

Friday, June 21, 7:00–9:00 PM  EAST RIVER JAZZ BAND This mini-Big Band performs classic and new jazz, including Ellington, bossa novas, and originals. This show is part of the Make Music Festival, a citywide celebration of New York’s musicians. ERJB has horns, vocals, keys, and a rhythm section.

Saturday, June 22, 7:30–9:30 PM  MUSIC UNDER THE STARS A new entry in this wildly popular monthly series brings together an amazing line-up. This month: Patrick Salt Ryan, Alan Merrill, Walter G. Steding, Marni Rice, Maya Cabollero, and performing host Joff Wilson.

Sunday, June 23, 1:00–1:30 PM 3-D CLAY PORTRAIT WORKSHOP Create a 3D portrait picture using air-drying colored clay that can be hung on your wall. This kind of relief art is called bas-relief. Open to adults and children, but children under 7 must be with an adult. Bring a reference picture or use your imagination, and something to transport your work home.

(COMEDY THEATRE) With “Insanity?” Janine Squillari takes us on a journey through the insanity of life, from the difficulty of being in a good relationship to the craziness of living in NYC, all the while asking the question, “What is insanity?” Janine also performs at the Parkside.

Saturday, June 29, 2:00–4:00 PM  EQUUS DANCE ON SITE INSTALLATION This wildly imaginative company creates on-site performances that amaze and astound with both daring and subtlety. The whimsical duo of Equus dancer Jessica Martineau and tuba player Santino Lo will present small installation events throughout the garden.

Sunday, June 30, 4:00–6:00 PM  LUMINOUS RAGAS FOR BAMBOO FLUTE AND TABLA Pandit Steve Gorn plays bansuri Indian bamboo flute accompanied by Bill Buchen on tabla (Indian hand drum) and Hallie Laxmie on tanpura.
