AUGUST 2015 EVENTS
ALL EVENTS ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

Sat. Aug. 1 -  7:00-9:00 pm
ALEX GREENLEAF & MICHAEL LADERMAN 
deliver a unique mix of original song, early jazz, tin pan alley,
folk music of the British Isles and a few hidden chestnuts from
the 50s and 60s.  With Alex Greenleaf on vocals, guitar and
chromatic harmonica, & Michael Laderman on flute, piccolo
and alto flute.  Expect to be transported.

Sun. Aug. 2 - 1:00-4:00 pm
DRAWING IN THE GARDEN WITH A MODEL
Experience the drawing opportunity of a lifetime: come and draw
our lovely garden with a model.  Some materials are provided,
but you may want to bring your own.  This is for both professional
and aspiring artists; facilitated by garden member Effie Serlis.

STORY TIME READING FOR CHILDREN
Children and their caregivers are invited to join us for
some stories and songs with Ms. Thea, our local
children’s librarian.  Find out about all the free and
wonderful programs happening at the Ottendorfer Library!

LES BIKE CULTURE INFLUENCES NYC & BEYOND
MORUS Film Festival, co-hosting with TimesUP,
present “Still We Ride” about Critical Mass, and another
short compilation about the influence of he East Village
and LES on bicycle advocacy and infrastructure.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Sun. Aug 9 - 2:00-5:00 pm
MOSAIC MAN Jim Power will teach you how to make
your own POWER MOSAIC; free supplies included!

Thurs. Aug. 13 - 6:30-8:00 pm
GET CREATIVE and make a COLLAGE
with 6&B creativity expert Alex Coleman.

MUSIC UNDER THE STARTS
Curated by our own garden member, Joff Wilson:
Local Legends-and Up-and-Coming Local Legends will
present an evening of unforgettable and inspiring music.

FRINGE FESTIVAL
Comedic Folk Musical follows tow young friend’s quest
to escape he Fantastical Storybook World of Death Forest.
Pursued by a power-hungry enchantress, the boys must learn
about integrity, sacrifice, and the power of friendship... to
make it out alive...

WATER DANCES - Masks, Puppets, Costumes!
For kids of all ages (9 and under with a parent).
Garden member Mindy Levokove will inspire you as we
make masks, puppets, and costumes - of fish, birds, water and
garbage - to use in a parade, a procession or a story about water.
